Good Morning!
How well do you set boundaries, both with yourself and with others?
I've often contemplated creating a tele-class on the importance of
setting healthy boundaries as it seems like a topic rich with
possibilities.
I've been coaching for over twelve years now and boundaries are
clearly the most talked about topic in our sessions and one of the
most potent places to focus one's energies.
Simply put, boundaries are imperative to living a purposeful and
satisfying life. Without boundaries, we are like loose cannons
shooting wildly without aim or purpose. Within boundaries, we can
consciously live with focus, intention, and peace.
The first step to setting healthy boundaries is to start within
your own consciousness. Years ago, one of my own first boundaries
was committing to eliminating negative self-talk. Another was to
relinquish my perfectionism. By declaring both of these habits to
be no longer useful, over time, I was able to set a boundary that
in turn led to freedom and a new way of being.
What are some habits that you'd like to release? How could you set
a loving boundary around them so that you can experience more joy
in your life?
