How well do you allow yourself to graciously receive the gifts that
the Universe has to offer? Are you open to easily accept the gifts
given to you? Or do you get stuck misbelieving that you are not
worthy or that you need to earn the right to accept those gifts?
I have recently been playing with my own ability to graciously
receive. Spirit has been teaching me the importance of maintaining
a soft and open heart and remembering to be light and gentle with
myself when my mind wants to take over.
Several weeks ago, I came upon a piece of art that drew me in
heart, body and soul. The painting is called Lady of the Wings and
represents the pure and radiant beauty that lies within all of us
and the perfection that lies within our hearts, waiting to be
discovered and set free--just like her butterflies. (see left side
bar)
I have since come to realize that this is the woman I saw in a
meditation years ago when I asked Spirit to bring me an image of my
higher self living my life's purpose. As days passed, I started to
realize just how much this painting was speaking to my very soul. I
knew that she was sent to me by Spirit to guide me in my continued
journey of healing and joy.
As I pondered how our paths had crossed, I am able to see the many
serendipitous coincidences that brought me to her. For example, the
day I walked into the gallery and first glimpsed the Lady was just
days before the anniversary of my auto accident; a time where I
often feel open and vulnerable, and a time I pray for continued
healing. Later, I discovered that the artist also has a brain
injury from an accident and that the proceeds from the sale of her
art work help pay for her medical bills.
There have been numerous other magical coincidences that reminded
me once again how we live simultaneously in two very different
worlds. We live with one foot in a human, physical world and
another in a world of mystery and magic. There are so many things
that our minds cannot comprehend, but once we open our hearts, we
are flooded with a knowingness and understanding that is truly
beyond words.
I know that regardless of whether I come to own the Lady of the
Wings or not, I have been gifted with her presence and an ever
precious reminder that she is alive in each and every one of us.
That the beauty that lives within our hearts transcends time and is
there for the taking. All we need to do is remember she is there
and to be willing to receive her abundant gift.
I ask that you take time this week to soften and open your heart.
Allow the Lady of the Wings to show you the magic and wonder that
lies within.
Have a magical week,
