Good Morning!

When I first read this week’s quote I giggled. I could clearly see an image of people throwing bricks at me, my trying to dodge them, and then eventually picking them up one by one and building a beautiful castle.  We have all experienced times where we felt bruised and battered by the bricks of life that we weren’t able to dodge. Perhaps we even felt bewildered and a bit hopeless as we nursed our wounds.

To me, that’s where prayer comes in. By asking for Divine Guidance, we can eventually find our inner strength and the wisdom that tells us that although we cannot change what happens to us, we can change the way we think about it.

I believe that at any given moment, we can discover the power that lies within. It is often at the very moment we are about to give in and give up, that we find our light and our strength. I suppose that’s what surrender is all about--surrendering our small and human way of interpreting things and opening up to a much grander vision of ourselves and our world, the Spiritual.

Over the years I have witnessed loved ones and clients waddle through the many bricks of life. From the outside looking in, I can clearly see that these bricks have been sent to bring them closer to Spirit and to their own inner wisdom and beauty. I know that although the path might seem bumpy, that it is a journey rich with gifts and that with compassion, love, and a little guidance they soon will be building glorious castles with those rocks and bricks.

If you were to think about the personal attributes that you are most proud of, you can probably see that they came from those “flying brick” experiences. Perhaps that is one of the easiest gifts to be able to see and accept.  And perhaps in doing so, you can open your mind to the understanding that even when life looks and feels less than perfect, that Spirit is at work bringing gifts and opportunities for growth, love and understanding.

So, if you, or someone you love, is feeling overwhelmed, hopeless or bewildered, take a moment to open your heart and ask for Divine Guidance.  Tap into your inner wisdom that can remind you to be patient and to trust. To trust that although your life may look like a pile of rubble, that in the end something amazing might very well come of it.

Have a Divine week,

Quote of the Week

Quote of the Week:  "A successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him or her."
- David Brinkley

Question:  Has life blessed you with a pile of bricks? With a little trust and patience, what might you build from them?

Affirmation:  "I give thanks for the bricks that life has given me. I know that from the rubble I am building a glorious castle of strength, beauty, and wisdom."
