I am back from Mexico
well rested, refreshed and slightly tanned (this freckle-faced girl
stayed in the shade of a beach palapa as much as possible it was easier
for the waiter to get me my umbrella drinks that way).
I am looking forward to this
weeks tele-gathering on Authenticity. Yesterday, as I sat to jot down some
ideas for our gathering I realized that Authenticity is a very rich topic.
I pondered my own experiences of having once been a frenzied, career-driven
stockbroker in downtown Miami and what seemed like a lack of Authenticity in
my interactions with others to the immense contrast to the life I now lead
living in a small mountain community in Colorado. I often take for granted
my simple and focused lifestyle where what you see is what you get and in
doing so, can forget that so many women are struggling like I once did to
find themselves and their Authenticity while living hurried and busy lives.
Of course the real clincher for me was experiencing a brain injury nine
years ago that lovingly forced me to re-prioritize my life around what
really mattered. I will always be grateful for the gifts my head injury
gave me, especially the gift of living an Authentic and meaningful life.
It is such a joy for me to
coach women who are committed to finding and expressing their Authentic
Selves. I am honored to be able to hold the space for women to explore the
parts of themselves that they have long since abandoned in exchange for
living a responsible and successful life. Often focusing on others needs
first, they find immense freedom and happiness in learning to listen to
their own inner voice and to put their needs back on top of the list. In
reclaiming their lost selves and their lost voices, they find that not only
do their lives change, but so does the world they live in. Everyone
When I think of how much
time we have spent being who we thought everyone else wanted us to be, I
feel sad. But when I think about the gifts that we bring into the world as
we embrace our True Selves, I am tickled beyond belief.
Its easy to look at the
world and see the plethora of problems and challenges facing our planet.
But when I consult my heart and ask, What can I do? I hear the words,
your light shine. I feel joy in knowing that as we unleash the Authentic
Woman within each and every one of us, we are indeed blessed and we bring
much needed joy and light into the world.
It is up to us to decide
whether we want to continue to live on automatic pilot or to get out of our
comfort zone, gather up some courage and support, and awaken to our inner
voice that says Now is the time for us to be the women we came here
to be! I think that the choice is pretty clear and I think that the time
is indeed now. The world needs us.
So what do you think? Would
you like to come and play? I invite you (or for some of you, I dare you)
to join me in gathering with other amazing women on Wednesday, May 17th
to discuss and explore the topic of Authenticity. You never know what might

Moving On: Creating Your House of Belonging With Simple Abundance by
Sarah Ban Breathnach
Building on the success of Sarahs previous books, Moving On
expresses a new-age inclusiveness that allows people of all faiths and
belief systems to enjoy her positive outlook on life.
Inspired by her own life experiences and requested by avid
Ban Breathnach readers eager for another volume, Sarah helps readers to
understand themselves and to use those insights to create a home that truly
suits their spirits and their lives.
"We do not know how to move on," Sarah observes. "We have
learned to let go, but not move on." This keen insight differentiates this
book from other self-help books dealing with life changes.
Sarah helps readers cope with what she calls, "the myriad
demands of uprooting ones life," and teaches them to not only move, but to
finally create what she calls, "your own house of belonging."
Like the other books in Sarahs acclaimed Simple
Abundance series, Moving On is what Sarah calls "part meditation,
how-to-manual, and memoir."
